Nowra Private Hospital is an acute medical/surgical hospital providing healthcare to the Shoalhaven and South Coast for almost 30 years. An 84 bed private hospital Nowra Private provides acute surgical and medical services, rehabilitation, day surgery and day only oncology services. The hospital is located 130km south of Sydney and 10km from the coast and beaches for which the South Coast is renowned.

Nowra Private Hospital was constructed 1979, and commissioned in 1980, and has undergone a number of extensions and renovations over the years. The hospital was recently refurbished and features a range of single and shared accommodation. All rooms have an ensuite, bedside telephone and remote controlled television.

The Nowra team prides it’s self on the personalised attention that commences at pre-admission, right thorough to discharge from hospital, and return to the Community. Our dedicated staff look forward to welcoming you and your family, should the need arise. All departments are staffed by experienced and skilled health care professionals, who are familiar with the latest developments and research in their respective fields.

The Hospital is fully accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), a national accreditation body which ensures that hospitals provide the highest standards of service.

As a Department of Veterans’ Affairs Partnering Hospital, you have immediate access to our care, in most circumstances without the need for prior approval.

We provide hospital care on behalf of private health funds, and for those patients who chose to self fund their private care.

You can request direct admission to Nowra Private Hospital (referral by your doctor), or request transfer from the Emergency Department of the public hospital.
