St Stephen's Hospital in Hervey Bay is Australia's first fully integrated digital hospital.

Since October 2014 when the hospital opened, Fraser Coast residents ​have access to one of the country’s most advanced healthcare facilities.

The new $96-million facility is the first fully-integrated digital hospital to be opened in regional Australia, and will transform the quality of healthcare available to the Fraser Coast’s growing population.

St Stephen’s Hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient medical services, as well day surgery.

Part of UnitingCare Health, St Stephen’s Hospital is a private healthcare provider owned by the Uniting Church, and is the only not-for-profit provider of private hospital services on the Fraser Coast. 

UnitingCare Health also includes The Wesley Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Brisbane and The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital in Buderim and is therefore a significant provider of health care services in Queensland.  Collectively, over 4,100 people are currently employed by UnitingCare Health, with approximately 100,000 patients treated annually.

As a registered charity and not-for-profit facility, St Stephen’s is committed to re-investing surplus funds for the development of the hospital, its services and its employees. This benefits the community by creating facilities that utilise leading edge technology and staffed by leaders in their field.
